How fees work on Litecoin

  • Litecoin works like Bitcoin: fees are paid per virtual byte (vB) of transaction size, and a typical SegWit transfer is ~140 vB.
  • Blocks arrive every ~2.5 minutes with the same 4M weight limit, so capacity per hour is ~4× Bitcoin's and fees are usually much lower.
  • Miners pick the highest fee-rate transactions first; the tiers show the rate needed to confirm in ~1, ~3 or ~6 blocks.
  • Stuck transactions can be bumped with replace-by-fee (RBF) or child-pays-for-parent.
  • MWEB (MimbleWimble extension block) transactions appear as non-standard outputs in explorers; their fees follow the same rule.
