How fees work on BNB Smart Chain
- BNB Smart Chain uses the legacy gas model: you set a single gas price in gwei and pay gas used × gas price to the validator.
- A plain BNB transfer costs 21,000 gas; BEP-20 token transfers and swaps use more gas, so the same gas price yields a higher fee.
- Validators order transactions by gas price, so the slow/standard/fast tiers reflect what recently included transactions paid.
- Blocks arrive roughly every 0.75–1.5 s, so even the slow tier usually confirms within seconds when the network is not congested.
